subject line: water the grass.

The old saying goes, “The grass is always greener on the other side.” I feel like I’m always searching for that greener grass, usually in distant cities that I romanticize and daydream about. Cities that hold adventures and romance and that certain vibe I can’t describe but can feel when I visit. Part of my heart always wants to be somewhere other than my hometown. But then the other part thinks of everything good I have here: my family, my friends, a great job. I’m constantly torn between wanting to leave and wanting to stay.

Recently I read somewhere that the saying should go, “The grass is greener where you water it.” This hit me hard and really made me think about what I want in my life. It made me want to stay. I’ll water the grass where I am. I’ll create adventures and find the vibe I know exists in my city, and maybe even finally find some romance. It’s time to stop searching and start living.
