Subject line: Good. May 07, 2015 by Hannah Brencher huttonsville, west virginia. Tonight, for no discernible reason, I remembered a detail from my freshman year of college. I remembered having heart-to-heart conversations with my college chaplain. About God. About hard and heavy stuff. The details of those conversations are hazy, but I remember clearly that sometimes, when they ended, the chaplain would send me off with a warm handshake and the words, “You’re a good woman.”Those conversations were five or six years ago, but remembering those words made me feel the same way tonight as they did when I first heard them.”You’re a good woman.”Imagine how much better things would be if we told each other that more often. You’re good. Through and through. There is goodness in you. Even when life is beating you down and you feel like you’re just trying to make it to bedtime each night and you don’t know if you’re going the right way or doing the right thing. You’re good.
